Mosey Mate is a private step tracker and walking app that works without an account, advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking. With permission, it uses step totals on your device to calculate your progress. We do not operate a server that collects your personal information, health data, or step history.
What Mosey Mate accesses
After you grant permission, Mosey Mate accesses step totals through Apple HealthKit on iPhone or Health Connect and the supported device pedometer on Android. The app uses those totals to show walking progress, calculate Step Seed rewards, update goals and streaks, and move your active journey forward.
Your step data and app progress are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to an Oh Rover user-data server, because Mosey Mate does not have an account system or central database for that information.
What the app does not ask for
- No Mosey Mate account, name, or email address
- No GPS route or continuous location history
- No contacts or browsing history
- No advertising identifier for targeted ads
- No analytics or behavioral-tracking profile
Permission remains in your control
You can grant or revoke health-data access using Apple Health or Android settings. If access is removed, Mosey Mate cannot receive new step totals from that source. You can delete locally stored app data through your device's app controls or the app's settings where available.
How purchases are handled
Apple or Google processes payments for subscriptions and in-app products. Mosey Mate does not receive or store your payment card number, billing address, or store credentials.
Privacy and the website
The Mosey Mate website does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or tracking cookies. Following a store link takes you to Apple or Google, whose own policies apply there. If you email support, Oh Rover receives the information you choose to include so the company can respond.
Private step tracker questions
Does Mosey Mate track my GPS location?
No. Mosey Mate uses step totals and does not collect your GPS routes or continuous location history.
Is my step history uploaded to a server?
No. Step and health data stays on your device and is not shared with anyone or uploaded to a server.
Can I use the app without an account?
Yes. No Mosey Mate account is required.
Does the app contain analytics or ads?
No. Mosey Mate does not use advertising, behavioral analytics, or user tracking.
